The Name of Jesus

Jesus has been given many names and I think we should analyse them to see which names fit. Immanuel is one of the names given to Jesus. So lets look carefully at what the scripture says - Matthew 1: 23 "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us." Trinitarians seize on this name to prove that Jesus is God, but look what the scripture says; "they shall call His name Immanuel". 'They' is not God, and true, Jesus is given the name Immanuel. However, it is not the name given to Him by God and it is what God determines is what counts and not 'they'. But what name did God give Him? Luke 2: 21 And when eight days were completed for the circumcision of the Child, His name was called JESUS, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.

Matthew 1:21 And she shall give birth to a Son, and you shall call His Name Yahushua for He shall save His people from their sins. 22 And all this came to be in order to fill what was spoken by Yahweh through the prophet,

In 'The Scriptures' the corresponding passage from the Gospel of Matthew is rendered as follows: Matthew 1:21 And she shall give birth to a Son, and you shall call His Name Yahushua for He shall save His people from their sins. 22 And all this came to be in order to fill what was spoken by Yahweh through the prophet. This is how The Scriptures commence the opening verse of Matthew 1:1 The book of the genealogy of Yahushua Messiah, Son of Dawid, Son of Abraham:

The same reasoning can be applied to the following scripture: Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Here again, there is no denying that Jesus is called 'mighty God' and 'Everlasting Father' but who is it that calls Jesus 'mighty God' and Everlasting Father' (Trinitarians do and this fulfils this scripture), here again it is not God that calls Jesus by these titles/names. Well how does God refer to Jesus? Luke 1:31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end. God called His name Jesus and God says 'He (Jesus) will be Great' and He (Jesus) will be called 'the Son of the Highest'. Philippians 2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow. It is true that Jesus is Great, it is true that Jesus is the Son of the Highest, it is true that Jesus is the Son of God, it is true that Jesus is the King of the Jews, Matthew 27: [ Jesus Faces Pilate ] 11 Now Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews?" Jesus said to him, "It is as you say." It is not true that Jesus is God.
